Black Excellence Symposium 2026
The Black Excellence Symposium is a powerful, student-focused learning experience created for HCDSB students to celebrate Black identity, achievement, and leadership. Taking place on February 12, the symposium will bring together students, educators, and community leaders for a full day of inspiration, learning, and connection.
The day will feature a diverse lineup of speakers, interactive workshops, and facilitated conversations designed to engage students in meaningful dialogue around identity, confidence, leadership, creativity, and future pathways. Through hands-on sessions and real-world storytelling, students will gain practical tools, fresh perspectives, and a deeper understanding of what Black excellence looks like across different fields and lived experiences.
Rooted in representation and empowerment, the Black Excellence Symposium creates space for students to see themselves reflected in success, ask important questions, and connect with mentors and peers. More than an event, it is an opportunity for students to explore their potential, strengthen their sense of belonging, and leave inspired to lead with purpose in their schools and communities.
