Join Our Board

We’re looking for individuals who share our commitment to anti-racism, equity, and community transformation. Board members will play a vital role in shaping our strategy, supporting sustainability, and ensuring that HBV continues to thrive as a beacon of belonging across Halton.

We especially welcome:

  • All backgrounds, especially members of the Black diaspora in Halton and allies committed to equity, youth leadership, and community wellbeing.

  • Individuals with expertise in nonprofit governance, finance, fundraising, communications, education, or community organizing

  • Leaders grounded in equity and social justice who can help strengthen our capacity and impact

Commitment:

  • Attend quarterly board meetings (virtual/in-person hybrid)

  • Participate in one committee or special project area aligned with your skills

  • Champion HBV’s mission in your networks and community

Female Coaches – Deep Roots Basketball & Leadership Program

Halton Black Voices is looking for passionate female coaches to join our Deep Roots Basketball & Leadership Program, supported by Jumpstart. This program is part of our commitment to keeping girls in sport and building the next generation of leaders on and off the court.

Position: Coach
Pay: $25–$30/hour
Hours: 4 hours per week
Location: South Oakville
Start Date: September 2025

We welcome coaches who are committed to mentorship, teamwork, and creating inclusive spaces where all youth — especially girls — can thrive.
