Experience facilitating group sessions (community-based experience preferred)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Create inclusive, welcoming environments for participants of all abilities
Collaborate with the HBV team on scheduling and promotion
Provide session outlines and basic materials list (if required)

Mentorship and guidance from a community-rooted organization
Experience working in culturally affirming and trauma-informed spaces

Hiring Female Basketball Coaches
Apply Today!This is a part-time, on-site role for Deep Roots Basketball Coach located in South Oakville. The Basketball Coach will be responsible for organizing and leading basketball training sessions, developing team strategies, fostering skill development, and mentoring youth participants. Additional responsibilities include providing clear communication, encouraging teamwork, and creating a positive and inclusive environment that reflects the organization's commitment to community development.

Experience in Basketball Coaching and Coaching/mentoring youth or teams
Proficiency in basketball techniques, rules, and strategies
Strong Communication skills to effectively engage with players, parents, and staff
Experience in planning and delivering skill-based Training sessions
Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes to develop confidence and teamwork
Experience working with diverse communities is an asset
First aid and CPR certification is preferred

Lead basketball sessions that build both athletic skills and leadership development
Create a safe, inclusive, and affirming space where all youth feel they belong
Mentor and support youth: centring confidence, identity, and cultural pride
Model positive leadership, empathy, and respect on and off the court
Support youth through conflict using a growth-focused, trauma-informed approach
Encourage community involvement, teamwork, and character beyond sport
Foster reflection, growth, and open feedback in every session
