Halton Black Voices Receives $120,000 Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant
Halton Black Voices (HBV) is proud to announce that we have received a $120,000 Resilient Communities Fund Grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF).
This vital funding supports the growth, sustainability, and healing of our community — allowing HBV to strengthen our organizational capacity, deepen our programming, and continue creating spaces where Black, Brown, and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities across the Halton Region can thrive.
Through the Resilient Communities Fund, HBV will be able to:
Build sustainable structures that support long-term community impact
Expand and stabilize key programs such as the Halton Black Student Union (HBSU), Deep Roots Basketball, and Yoga Night
Invest in leadership development, community wellness, and anti-racism initiatives
At its core, this grant helps us continue our mission of dismantling systemic racism and building collective power — ensuring that our spaces remain rooted in wellness, education, and belonging.
“We are deeply grateful to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for standing beside us in this work and for believing in the power of Black-led, grassroots change.”
– Halton Black Voices Leadership Team
We extend our heartfelt thanks to OTF for recognizing the importance of Black-led community organizing and for investing in our collective future. Together, we are building a more inclusive and equitable Halton Region — one grounded in healing, connection, and liberation.
